- Purrbo toys are a parody of Tamagotchi handheld digital pets originating from Japan that were popular in the late 1990s and early 2000s.
- Two promotional images released by Fox for this episode are not present in the finished episode. It includes an up close shot of Bob with a spray bottle and a shot of the kids eating lunch in the Wagstaff School cafeteria. (see Gallery)
- Bento Box animator Briton Kimmins created an alternative version of the scene where Teddy tells Bob and Linda about his salmon situation where Teddy appears smaller.
- While Bob is trying to encourage Gene to work on his microgreens project, a woman walking past the restaurant can be seen tripping over a crack on the street, one that will later grow into the sinkhole that is the main feature of the movie.
