- The title is a reference to the 1972 children's book Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day.

- Gene's Queen Latifah necklace's middle stripe is colored black instead of yellow.
- Linda's apron is missing when the kids talk about finding another place to live.
- When Pam enters the restaurant and Louise turns her head, her left eye remains in place until the shot changes.[4]
