Bob's Burgers Wiki

Trivia[]

  • The title of the episode is a reference to the 1988 film Stand and Deliver, about a teacher who inspires a group of students that had been written off by the school. The film's star, Edward James Olmos, is referenced in the Burger of the Day, the "Edward James Olive-Most" burger.
  • The script cover is a reference to the film Lean on Me. It shows Bob, Tina, Zeke and Jimmy Jr. in silhouettes while Bob holds a butcher knife.
  • The end sequence, when Bob is gathering his plates and the students stand on their desks, is a reference to the 1989 film, Dead Poets Society. The German title for this episode, "Oh Bob, mein Bob" is a reference to the line said when the students stand on their desks in said film, being "O Captain! My Captain!".[1]
  • Mr. Frond is shown knitting while watching the class watch a movie, a callback to Synchronized Swimming where he is shown to be a knitting fanatic.
  • When Linda is teaching Teddy how to dance, the scene where they are crawling on the floor is a reference to Dirty Dancing, replete with Teddy's shirt tied the same as the character Baby's in the movie.
  • When Bob tells Gene to get off the mobile home-ecstaurant to give it more speed, Louise tells Gene, "Get off your cushion and do some pushin'!" The line is similar to one from "The Demo," when Louise explains that heavy kids can get molested because "it's more cushion for the pushin'." "Human Flesh" replaced the line with "Yeah, who wouldn't want to molest this face?"
  • The music playing in the End Credits Sequence is an instrumental of "Prankin'" from "My Big Fat Greek Bob."
