  • The title of this episode is a reference to the 2007 movie Into the Wild, a biographical film about the travels of Christopher McCandless.
  • Loren Bouchard made reference to this episode about Bob being stuck in a sporting goods store overnight during an interview at the 2016 San Diego Comic-Con about two weeks before the table read took place.[1]
  • This episode premiered as a bonus Season 7 episode on June 11, 2017, between the official finale "Paraders of the Lost Float" and the Season 8 premiere "Brunchsquatch." Supposedly to help launch the second season of American Grit which premiered immediately after.[2]
  • This episode premiered a half-hour later (9:00 ET/PT) on City in Canada owing to an hour-long Celebrity Family Feud episode airing at 8:00 ET/PT.
  • This is the first episode written by Kelvin Yu without Steven Davis also co-writing.
  • This is the first episode since "Work Hard or Die Trying, Girl" in Season 5 where Larry Murphy doesn't voice any characters.
  • On the press release, H. Jon Benjamin is credited for voicing Jimmy Jr. and Speedo Guy (listed as "Speedo Man"), despite neither of them appearing. The same goes for John Roberts with "Rosetta Free" and Larry Murphy with Teddy, "Lenny," (assumably Lenny DeStefano), Edith, and "Grand Marshall."[3]
  • Tina appears to be reading Equestranauts comics in the first scene.
  • It is revealed in this episode that Bob switched the restaurant's meat supplier back to Demetri's Nice to Meat You after switching to Jack Conway's Conway Meats before they were shut down for supplying horse meat in "They Serve Horses, Don't They?"
  • This is the second time Bob has to wear a tight harness. The first is in "Family Fracas."
  • This is the first episode to air in the Summer.

  • Louise says "We have a witness" and Gene says "That little Amish boy!" - a reference to the 1985 film "Witness".

Goofs[]

  • In the shot showing Bob leaving the restaurant, the Burger of the Day header is missing, and the burger title fills the spot where it should be.
  • The code Austin types in first is 9971 but the second time he types it in its 9857.
