Bob's Burgers Wiki

Trivia[]

  • This episode reveals the show takes place in New Jersey, as shown on the map.
  • In the press release for this episode, it stated that Nick Offerman and Megan Mullally would be playing characters called Herb and Irene Weiner respectively. They do not appear in the episode and aren't credited on the end credits.[1]
  • Second appearance of Linda's parents Gloria and Al. Their personalities both differ greatly from how they were in "Crawl Space," and Al is now voiced by Sam Seder instead of H. Jon Benjamin.
  • First episode where Gayle's studio apartment is mentioned, it later appears for the first time in "Purple Rain-Union."
  • Linda Lavin guest voices Helen Kellerman in this episode. Lavin was previously mentioned earlier in Season 3 as a fan of Grazielda figurines in "My Fuzzy Valentine."
  • The website,https://www.woman-inflates-a-balloon-and-sits-on-it-and-pops-it.com/ , which Al mentions was created especially for this episode. It solely consists of an embedded YouTube video of Al giving Gloria individual balloons to pop by sitting on them.
  • The couple who serve Gloria and Al with the 'Notice of Failure to Perform' can be seen going to the potluck with the husband wearing a dog collar and the wife pulling him along with a leash.
  • The script cover shows Gene with a nervous look with a snake on top of him.
  • On the back of the script cover, it shows Gene's legs and the snake's tail.
  • The title is a play on the phrase, "It takes a village to raise a child."

Goofs[]

  • The map they travel on seems to include Long Island as part of New Jersey.
  • Despite wearing a diver's mask that's covering her nose, Tina's voice doesn't become denasalized when she talks.
  • When Bob enters the kitchen while Gloria is washing dishes he walks out from an animated line which is the edge of the wall where the refrigerator is.
  • Linda states that Gloria and Al had not kissed in twenty years, implying a decline in their romantic lives despite loudly having sex with each other in "Crawl Space." Linda, however, may have been fast asleep when they did so in "Crawl Space" and was probably unaware of any kissing that may have happened in the twenty years since.
