Jackie is a crossing guard who supervises students crossing the road outside Wagstaff School. She gets introduced in "Teen-a Witch," making her first and only speaking appearance.
She is voiced by Betsy Sodaro.
Profile[]
Appearance[]
She has brown hair that she styles in a low ponytail with a green band to secure it, with her ears showing that angle up and start above her mouth. Her eyes are egg-shaped and slightly angled down. The lower half of her face recedes into her, and her mouth extends past her eyes, with smile lines on both sides of it.
In her first appearance in "Teen-a Witch," she wears a blue long-sleeved button shirt and dark gray pants that leave her ankles visible. Her shoes are dull purple sneakers with white details. Over her shirt, she wears an orange safety vest with yellow stripes. Since "Some Like It Bot Part 2: Judge-bot Day," her shirt is now lavender, and her pants are jeans.
In "Y Tu Tina También," Jackie wears a yellow safety raincoat with gray stripes over her outfit when it rains.
Personality[]
Compared to faculty members like Mr. Ambrose, Jackie takes her job seriously, which is to allow people on her street to cross safely and legally. When the Belcher kids start crossing the street behind Tammy and Jocelyn in "Teen-a Witch," she brings Tina, Gene, and Louise Belcher back to the beginning of the crossing due to it being unsafe to cross because of the traffic lights turning green, despite Tina pressuring her to let her cross so she catches up with Tammy. While she doesn't let pressure and complaints from pedestrians dictate how she does her job, Jackie can decide to make people wait longer to cross if they irritate her, like how she does so with Tina and her siblings when she keeps pestering Jackie to let her cross.
Jackie is not one to be passive about pedestrians who complain about how she does her job. For example, the crossing guard makes Tina and her siblings wait longer to cross after Tina keeps pestering her in "Teen-a Witch," or she reprimands Tina after she insults her and later curses her in the same episode. Her willingness to curse people contrasts with her devotion to pedestrian safety. Mr. Ambrose also reveals she is a malevolent witch who uses her powers for vengeance against her enemies ("Teen-a Witch").
Story[]
In "Teen-a Witch," Jackie stops Tina and her siblings from crossing the street, preventing Tina from stopping Tammy from stealing her costume idea. Consequently, Tina turns to witchcraft to win the costume contest, developing an aggressive attitude. She annoys Jackie while she's patrolling the street the Belcher kids are crossing again and threatens to hex her, though Jackie curses Tina instead, involving her barrette. Mr. Ambrose reveals that Jackie is also a witch, and during the costume contest, she apologizes to Jackie despite losing. Jackie later forgives her and returns Tina's barrette.
Relationships[]

Tina Belcher[]
"Teen-a Witch" shows Tina developing a poor relationship with Jackie because Jackie does not allow Tina to cross when she wants to. It's initially one sarcastic comment, but after Tina becomes a witch, she turns more hostile towards everyone, including Jackie. The crossing guard curses Tina after the new witch threatens to hex her. It's possibly a way for Jackie to teach her a lesson as she later removes the curse from Tina after Tina apologizes.
Mr. Ambrose[]
While Jackie and Mr. Ambrose are both Wagstaff employees, in "Teen-a Witch," Mr. Ambrose reveals he used to be in the same coven as her, stating she's no longer in it due to her use of malicious magic—and because she never contributed to paying for pizza. Jackie seems to scare Mr. Ambrose, as he loses his usual aloof demeanor when Tina reveals that she's the one who cursed her in the episode.
