Trivia[]
- Table read date: February 16th, 2024.[1]
- This is the first episode to premiere in 2025.
- The title is a reference to the 1995 musical/family film Mr. Holland's Opus.
- The script cover is a reference to the release poster of the 2022 drama film Tár.
- "Udo Pfeffer's Fifth Symphony" was a piece composed for the episode by Courtney Swain and recorded at East West Studios on July 22, 2024 with the show's music director Patrick Dacey conducting.[2]
- Amy Sedaris voices Inga, Calvin Fischoeder's previously unseen housemaid previously mentioned in "The Oeder Games" and "To Bob, or Not to Bob." The panel for San Diego Comic-Con 2024 teased Sedaris would be voicing Inga.[3] Sedaris previously voiced Samantha in the first season episode "Weekend at Mort's," making it the longest gap between two consecutive guest voice appearances in the series (276 episodes).
- First appearance of Mrs. Wheeler without the rest of her family.
- Louise states Felix unlocking his crate will melt the faces off of her, Tina, and Gene, referencing the 1981 film Raiders of the Lost Ark.
- The kids' puppet show is based on the TV series Friends. Their name for the show, The One Where They All Were Puppets, is the usual way Friends episodes were named.
- The Belchers wear the same clothes they wear for the symphony in "Worms of In-Rear-ment," with Tina being able to fit into her dress and Bob wearing his clogs despite wanting to wear his dress shoes instead in the earlier episode.
- Characters with modified, recolored designs of the family that visits Bob's Burgers after a funeral in "Colon-ly the Dronely" are in the audience, all sitting next to each other (close to the left exit of the auditorium).
- The "breakup couple" from "Don't Stop Be-cheesin'" are in the audience, sitting next to each other (near the right exit of the auditorium).
- The End Credits Sequence appears to be referencing the 1940 Disney film Fantasia, specifically the "Toccata and Fugue in D Minor" sequence, with the images on screen moving in tune to the song and the conductor (Mr. Fischoeder) being seen in shadow in the background.
- While it is first relevant later in "The Shell Game," Mr. Fischoeder's solarium first appears in this episode.
- On May 18, 2025, while sharing behind-the-scenes content for the episode in an Instagram post, music director Patrick Dacey shared a document containing "Burger of the Night," the featured song in "InsomniBob."[4]
Goofs[]
- While the powder on Bob's face is implicitly present, it is visible only in the shot where Mr. Fischoeder begins conducting.
- The record shown in the End Credits Sequence misspells Udo Pfeffer's last name as Pheffer, the only visual in episode appearance of the name. The correct spelling appears in closed captioning and on the sheet music.
- Larry Murphy is credited for voicing Teddy even though Teddy doesn't appear in the episode.
