Bob's Burgers Presents: My Butt Has a Fever[1] is a Bob's Burgers theatrical short film, it was released exclusively at Alamo Drafthouse movie theaters playing before other new films from May 6, 2022, leading up the release of The Bob's Burgers Movie.[2] It premiered May 27 on FXX as part of a Bob's Burgers marathon to coincide with the movie's release.

The short includes Tina, Gene, and Louise singing a song titled "My Butt Has a Fever."

Full Story[]

Bob and Linda are working in the restaurant alone when they begin to wonder where the kids are. Linda's phone starts ringing which reminds her that the kids are performing in the school's talent show, they close the restaurant and rush down to the school.

The kids are about to go on with their performance, while Mr. Frond reminds them of the things they aren't allowed to do. Bob and Linda make it to the auditorium just in time for the kids performance. Teddy is under the stage helping the kids with their performance. Louise taps the floor twice and gives Teddy the go-ahead to start the music.

The kids then start singing "My Butt Has a Fever", and a shocked Mr. Frond tries to quickly shut it down, he tries turning off the power switch and close the curtains but fails at both. He then chases them through the auditorium and the kids exit through the back door. Mr. Frond runs outside after them, but the kids quickly run back inside in close the door behind them, leaving Frond to have to re-enter through the front of the school.

Tina, Gene and Louise get back on stage to continue their song, to an excitable crowd. Mr. Frond then runs back in and shouts from the back of the auditorium that they all have detention. The kids finish their song and they're seen in detention the following day. With all of them agreeing that everything was worth it. Mr. Frond starts singing "My Butt Has a Fever" under his breath, which Louise calls him out on.

In an interview with EW, dated November 3, 2020, Loren Bouchard revealed that the short had been scrapped following the COVID-19 pandemic which closed theaters and questioning the short's content.[3] In an interview with IGN, dated July 25, 2021, it was revealed that the short film is still being planned for theaters.[4]

Release[]

The short made its debut at Alamo Drafthouse theaters on May 6, 2022.

The short premiered May 27, 2022 on FXX during an-all day marathon of the series to coincide with the release of the film and was repeated several times throughout the marathon. It premiere on Freeform on June 3, 2022.

Ahead of the release of The Bob's Burgers Movie on Hulu, the short was made available to watch on Hulu's YouTube channel on July 11, 2022. The short is preceded by an introduction from Eugene Mirman and Kristen Schaal and followed with a Hulu branded trailer for the movie.

The short is included on the Blu-Ray release of The Bob's Burgers Movie.
