“ | Beer pong, anyone? | ” |
— Paul
|
Paul is the boyfriend of Holly. He makes his first appearance in "The Amazing Rudy."
He is voiced by Larry Murphy.
Profile[]
Appearance[]
Paul has brown hair that appears to be swept to the right and is long enough that the hair by his neck grows away from it. He also has a beard and shaped eyebrows.
He normally wears a dark green buttoned-down, long-sleeved polo shirt with khakis and brown dress shoes. He rolls up his sleeves.

Personality[]
There's not much to know about Paul's personality, but to ease Rudy's anxiety before their family dinner in "The Amazing Rudy," Sylvester tells his son that Paul is "very nice." When all the guests arrive at Plate and Fork for the dinner party, Paul offers to bring drinks for himself and everyone else while waiting for someone to seat them, which, again, Sylvester comments as "nice."
Paul also seems to be someone who can crack jokes, as when he and the guests for the family diner in "The Amazing Rudy" around Rudy's cup to confirm it's empty, he quips and asks, "Beer pong, anyone?"
Based on context, Paul appears to be a trustworthy person or someone Rudy's parents can trust around him, as they brought him to their family dinner in "The Amazing Rudy." The press release for "The Big Stieblitzki" also suggests he's a flirt, as he hits on Holly at Sylvester's birthday party.[2]
Story[]
Paul gets introduced and debuts in "The Amazing Rudy" as Holly's boyfriend. He later returns in "The Big Stieblitzki," accompanying Holly to Sylvester's birthday party.

Holly[]
Holly brings Paul to her family's family dinners in "The Amazing Rudy."
Acquaintances[]
Louise Belcher[]
When Rudy returns to Plate and Fork in "The Amazing Rudy," he comes along with Louise Belcher, and Paul has dinner with everyone at the Stieblitz family dinner, with Louise as a new addition.
Sylvester Stieblitz[]
Sylvester Stieblitz implies that he has met with Paul or knew about him before the present events of "The Amazing Rudy," as he was able to tell Rudy that he's "very nice." However, Sylvester interacted awkwardly with Paul at the dinner party in the episode. Still, he also acted this way around everyone else, seemingly because it's the first time it's not just him, his ex-wife, and their son at the family dinners.
Sylvester later invites Paul and Holly to his traditional birthday party at the Spare Change Lanes bowling alley in "The Big Stieblitzki." During the game, Sylvester intentionally throws his game off so as not to embarrass Paul. Sylvester knows that Paul is integral to Holly's life and doesn't want to view him as a rival or competition.
Regular Sized Rudy[]
He apparently meets Rudy at the Plate and Fork family dinner in "The Amazing Rudy," but he likely knew about Rudy's existence before, as Rudy's mom invites him to her family dinner. He shows that he can joke around Rudy at the family dinner.
Rudy generally feels uncomfortable or resentful around Paul, as he often fears that his father will make comparisons between themselves and ultimately feel inferior compared to his mother's boyfriend ("The Big Stieblitzki").
Vicki[]
Vicki is the romantic guest Sylvester brings to his family dinner in "The Amazing Rudy." Besides Louise, Vicki is likely the person Paul is least acquainted with at the Sylvester dinner party in the episode.
