Rachel Bisselbender is a substitute teacher called in to cover for Ms. Merkin in "The Plight Before Christmas."
Story[]
She knows nothing about music but was hired because she was the only one to answer the phone and needed to accept the job if she ever wanted to work in the town again. She later gets a check from Mr. Frond for $35 for half a days work.
She continues to act as a substitute teacher for Wagstaff, occasionally filling in as a substitute for Gene Belcher's sixth-grade class. When she's not substituting, she often works at her parents' doll store Doll in the Family.
