Bob's Burgers Wiki

I was really looking forward to those s'mores. But instead, I'll be having s'nuthin'.
— Rena

Rena is a member of Thundergirls' Troop 257. She is a former mole of Troop 119, the troop Tina Belcher is in. She makes her first appearance in "Tina Tailor Soldier Spy."

She is voiced by Sarah Baker.

Profile[]

Appearance[]

Rena is a girl with a peach complexion and red hair that extends past her shoulders. She has uneven bangs, and her right ear sticks out of her hair.[Note 1] As Tina suggests in "Tina Tailor Soldier Spy," she is short for her age. Rena is slightly shorter than Patty, though her eyes are below where Patty's eyes start. Her head and eyes are also bigger.

In all of her appearances, Rena wears her Thundergirl uniform. Since "The Place Beyond the Pinecones," she has four small circular badges. In "Tina Tailor Soldier Spy," she wears a Troop 119 uniform while acting as a mole. She wears a friendship bracelet after making one with the other troop, though she gets Larissa to cut it off after she reveals her identity.

Personality[]

Like the rest of Troop 257, Rena acts disrespectfully to anyone who isn't another girl in her troop, such as how she gives Bob and Tina the middle finger in "Motor, She Boat." Rena even rejects her dad, though all the troop members in her group do so, as well.

She has moments of innocence, though every time she appears so, it's an act to benefit her troop. The two examples are how she pretended to be a troop member in Troop 119 by acting nice to the other girls so she could relay any information they get about "cookie leads" to her actual troop ("Tina Tailor Soldier Spy") and how she pretends to be stuck in a tree in "Motor, She Boat" to divert people's attention away from her troop replacing Patty's regular boat with a forbidden one.

While sharing the rowdy nature of the Troop 257 girls, compared to Patty, Rena is a little more practical. When she gets lost in the Needle Pine campground with Tina and Patty in "The Place Beyond the Pinecones," she agrees Tina should blow her whistle to alert the troop leaders, as opposed to Patty, who disagrees. She is also less likely to make inappropriate comments or have outlandish suggestions, with Patty being the main one to do so in the episode.

Story[]

In "Tina Tailor Soldier Spy," Ginny gets Tina to rejoin Troop 119 to find the mole in the group from Troop 257. They discover Rena is the mole after Louise causes her to do Troop 257's handshake unintentionally. Rena reveals she joined to hurt their cookie sales.

In "Motor, She Boat," Troop 257 attempts to cheat during the Thundergirls Father Daughter Cardboard Boat Race, and Rena pretends to be stuck in a tree so no one will be aware of her troop replacing Patty's regular boat with an illegal one. Their plan doesn't work, as Bob and Tina copy Rena's distraction by using Troop 257's dads to replace Patty's boat again.

In "The Place Beyond the Pinecones," Rena and Patty lead Tina away from their troop, knowing she's following them to spy on their troop during the Thundergirls Orienteering Overnight Trip. They get lost together and end up in Donna Dane's Etiquette Camp for Good Girls. Rena's and Patty's manners irritate Eve, so she attempts to confine them until Tina escapes but returns to save Rena and Patty.

Relationships[]

The Belchers[]

Rena interacts with all the Belchers in "Tina Tailor Soldier Spy" and then Bob and Tina in "Motor, She Boat." However, she has the most complicated relationship with Tina as both of them are Thundergirls, and Rena was a mole in Troop 119 until Tina exposes her in "Tina Tailor Soldier Spy." As Tina is part of the rivaling troop Troop 257, Rena dislikes her. She ridicules Tina with the rest of Troop 257 when the opportunity's there, like how she gives Tina and Bob the middle finger at the meeting for the Thundergirls Father Daughter Cardboard Boat Race in "Motor, She Boat."

In "The Place Beyond the Pinecones," both Troop 257 and Troop 119 believe each other will cheat during the Thundergirls Orienteering Overnight Trip, where a troop must find a golden-painted pinecone in the Needle Pine campgrounds to win. Tina follows Rena and Patty to spy on them for her troop, but when Tina saves them from Donna Dane's Etiquette Camp for Good Girls after the three get lost and Eve confines them there, they seem to respect each other more. Tina puts the contest aside so they can escape by igniting the golden pinecone as a distraction, while neither Rena nor Patty disclose Tina did so when they return to the other Thundergirls.

Patty[]

Ignoring Bethany, the troop leader of Troop 257, whom the troop undermines in both "Tina Tailor Soldier Spy" and "Motor, She Boat," Patty has a leader-like role in their group. Like the rest of the girls in their troop, they both are fanatics in being the troop with one of the best cookie sales ("Tina Tailor Soldier Spy" & "Motor, She Boat"). Patty seems to be the closest to Rena in Troop 257. Rena notably is the one that responds to comments Patty makes in "The Place Beyond the Pinecones," and they also key "257" together into a bus after the Thundergirls Orienteering Overnight Trip.

While both of them are aggressive—stereotypical of a Thundergirl in Troop 257—Rena frequently has to show Patty reason in "The Place Beyond the Pinecones," like how she tries to calm her after she gets upset when Tina suggests another troop other than Troop 257 could've found the golden pinecone they attempted to find.

Her dad[]

As Troop 257 demonstrates in "Motor, She Boat" at the Thundergirls Father Daughter Cardboard Boat Race and the meeting for it, Rena doesn't like her dad.

My duct tape wallet got stuck in my hair.
What a cool way to hate your internal organs.
This song is eating my brain!

Trivia[]

Notes[]

  1. In "Tina Tailor Soldier Spy" and "Motor, She Boat," both of Rena's ears are often visible, or the left ear is visible. "The Place Beyond the Pinecones" consistently keeps her right one visible.
