The sixth season of Bob's Burgers refers to the sixth broadcast season. The season started on September 27, 2015 with "Sliding Bobs" and ended with "Glued, Where's My Bob?" on May 22, 2016.

Production[]

On September 26, 2013, FOX announced that the show had been renewed for a full 22-episode order of a fifth season and on January 8, 2015, FOX ordered a sixth production season of 22 episodes.

Season 6 aired the remainder of the production Season 5 episodes not aired in the broadcast fifth season, the first six production season six episodes and the milestone 100th produced episode aired as the finale on May 22, 2016.

Reception[]

On November 28, 2016, it was announced that "Glued, Where's My Bob?" received nominations for the Best General Audience Animated Television/Broadcast Production award and the Outstanding Achievement and Music in an Animated TV/Broadcast Production award at the 2017 Annie Awards. "The Hormone-iums" was also nominated for Writing in an Animated Television/Broadcast Production.[1] "Glued, Where's My Bob?" ended up winning the award for the former category and "The Hormone-iums" won its award.[2]

  • On this season's DVD cover, Bob is dressed as Officer Robo-Stache from "Sliding Bobs," Linda is dressed as Lady Bobbenstetin from "The Hauntening," Tina wears her nurse outfit from "Lice Things Are Lice," Gene is dressed as Dean in his Hugo's Hot Dog costume in "Sliding Bobs," and Louise is dressed in her mouse costume in "The Hormone-iums." In the background there is a pigeon from "House of 1000 Bounces," the ghost graffiti from "The Land Ship," the Double Butt from "Stand by Gene" and the pineapple from "Pro Tiki/Con Tiki."
  • "Gayle Makin' Bob Sled" and "The Cook, the Steve, the Gayle, & Her Lover" are out of chronological order—in the former, Gayle mentions an ongoing relationship with Mr. Frond. However, it isn't until the latter that the Belcher family seemingly finds this out for the first time, despite having discussed it in the former as common knowledge.
  • The production order of certain episodes was revealed by a Behind the Scenes video on March 2, 2015.
  • All episodes up until "Lice Things Are Lice" (apart from "The Hauntening" which aired at 9:00PM) aired at 7:30PM Eastern Time. The show moved to 8:30PM starting with "House of 1000 Bounces." A double bill with an additional episode airing at 9:00PM occurred on April 3 and one airing at 9:30PM occurred on May 22, 2016.[3]
  • This is the first series to air on City in Canada after switching from Global in the summer.
  • "House of 1000 Bounces" and "Stand By Gene" both aired on April 3, 2016 at 8:30pm and 9:00pm Eastern time respectively.
  • The Region 4 DVD was released on June 10, 2022, the same day that Region 4 copies of seasons 2-5 and 7-10 released.
