Synchronized Swimming is the third episode in Season 2 of Bob's Burgers. It is the sixteenth episode overall. Laura Silverman and Sarah Silverman guest star.
Plot
As Linda is working on her prenatal yoga DVD, the kids trick her into doing their homework. Bob disapproves of it, but Linda continues on. During lunch in the cafeteria, the kids announce that they are tired of doing physical education, and decide to meet up with Mr. Frond into letting them do an independent study of synchronized swimming. Louise forges Linda's name into the papers, as they go and play outside while they're supposed to be doing their study.
Meanwhile, Bob introduces a new soft serve ice cream machine in the restaurant, and has Teddy test the ice cream. While Linda is out shopping at Reflections, Mr. Frond bumps into her and she learns of the independent study. She shows a bit of frustration at first, although she loves synchronized swimming more than the kids would. She decides to coach them and eventually gives up after seeing that Bob was right about her coddling them too much.
Back at the restaurant, Bob attempts to serve the customers during a huge crowd, although it gets stressful as he has to give Teddy a softer ice cream, keep Mort's burger medium rare, and tries to explain to a couple teenagers that he has no clue whether the ice cream is low fat or not. When he learns that without Linda coaching the kids for a judging randomly announced by Mr. Frond, they'll be sent to summer school and he'll have no help for when it comes to serving the ice cream. He decides to coach the kids as Linda is teaching them a lesson, and Louise tries everything to get the contest cancelled.
In the end, Linda shows up on time to help the kids get the study done and they are judged with a D average. Mr. Frond is disappointed and is forced to stop independent studies, but as they didn't fail, they don't have to worry about summer school.
