• This is the first episode to air in the fifth production season.
• The script cover is a parody of the Never-ending Story which has Gayle riding a giant Mr. Business. Gene on his side wears a cowboy outfit, Loouise on her side dons a Game of Thrones like outfit, while Tina on her side wears a maid's dress.
• A total of 3.03 million households watched this episode.
• Gene references Weekend at Bernie's when the kids are complaining about being grounded for the weekend.
• In each story, the author's siblings play an antagonistic or downplayed role, most likely in the spirit of competition.
  • In addition, Linda is always portrayed as the villain and Bob is always portrayed as a bumbling sidekick.
• In Tina's story, Pooping Cough is a reference to Whooping Cough.
• Tina's story, "Lady Chatter-teeth's Lover," is a play on Lady Chatterley's Lover, a book published in the late 1920s depicting a relationship between a middle class man and upper class woman and famous for its graphic sexual imagery for the time.
• In Tina's story, the band at the ball is "Boys Fore the Present Tyme," a reference to the Boyz 4 Now boy band in the show's universe.
• In Tina's story, Tina says, "wow, everyone from town is here!" and Gene adds, "even Lord Ken, the albino." This is a reference to Gene's 28-year-old albino friend, Ken.
• In Tina's story when Bob says that his "horse broke down", it may be a reference to a moment in Back to the Future Part III when Marty McFly is at the farm explaining his himself "Well, my car—horse broke down, a bear ate my boots, and I guess I forgot my hat".

• When Tina is telling her story, the papers Gene wrote his story on are already on the counter, even though he was holding them as he was about to leave with Gayle.
