The National is an American indie band formed in 1999 in Cincinnati, Ohio. The band has covered songs that have been sung by characters in the series that have been released via YouTube.
In November 2015, the release of a cover of Linda's "Thanksgiving for Everybody (Except for Europeans)" song was canceled following the terrorist attacks in Paris, which occurred after the airdate (November 8) of "Gayle Makin' Bob Sled," the episode which originally featured the song.[1]
In an interview with TV Insider published May 20, 2016. Creator Loren Bouchard revealed that the band would be covering "Bad Stuff Happens in the Bathroom," the musical number featured in "Glued, Where's My Bob?"[2]It was later released on July 14, 2016 and features singer Matt Berninger singing Bob's part and English singer Låpsley singing Louise's part.
Released November 15, 2023, former Bob's Burgers supervising director Bernard Derriman directed the music video for the band's song "Laugh Track" (feat. Phoebe Bridgers).[3]

- Despite covering songs from the show, and appearing in animated music videos produced by the show, the band has never actually been featured in an episode of Bob's Burgers. Matt Berninger voices a singer in "The Bleakening."
- Devendorf's Bakery, featured in "Eat, Spray, Linda," was likely named for the Devendorf brothers from the band.
- At the 2017 Bob's Burgers Live shows, Matt Berninger performed with his side project EL VY as a backing band while performing songs from The Bob's Burgers Music Album.
- Aaron Dessner recycled the instrumental his band used for their "Give It to Teddy" cover when he produced Taylor Swift's song "Dorothea."
