Trivia[]
- The episode title script cover and basic plot are a parody of The Breakfast Club. The end credits are also heavily inspired by the film, with the Belcher kids performing the same dance moves as the main characters in the famous dance sequence.
- This episode's title was frequently misspelled The Runaway Club by several sources.
- A total of 2.21 million households watched this episode.
- In the opening scene, as Linda and Bob drop the kids off at school for detention, an instrumental version of "Don't You Forget about Me" plays in the background. The song was written for The Breakfast Club, a movie about a bunch of kids who have to spend a Saturday in detention. The song was parodied in the end credits by John Roberts.
- Linda's love of turtles is brought up again in this episode. She mentions this first in "The Kids Rob A Train" when introducing herself to Rick.
- In the promotional image for the scene when Linda says, "But they have Open-Toe Living", a cover to the brochure appears but in the final episode a list of magazines appear where the cover should be as if it was a page folded over.
- Principal Spoors appears for the first time in this episode but only from the neck down.
- The test in the trash Mr. Branca disposes has an F grade.
- The magazines Bob and Linda ordered apparently did eventually arrive as Bob appears reading Open-Toe Living in "Sacred Couch."
- This is the last episode to feature Linda's shirt with two buttons. From "Itty Bitty Ditty Committee" on, her shirt has a v-neck collar.
- Jimmy Pesto appears driving the minivan he won in "Family Fracas."
- When Tammy said that she and Tina have a deal, she mentions Ally McBeal, a legal drama series on FOX.
Goofs[]
- When Mr. Branca is describing being "dragged out on to the street," one of his fingers becomes see-through.
- Just before Sally produces the magazine brochure, her mouth disappears for a frame.
- When the kids celebrate their victory over Mr. Frond, Jocelyn appears colored lighter than usual (her skin, hair and clothes all look slightly faded).
