Full story[]

Tina, Gene, and Louise return to the restaurant from school as Linda decorates for Halloween. Teddy visits from working at the Freaky Antiquies occult store next to them. He brings up how the owner wants him to build a durable display case for some of his items before the store opens. Teddy asks Bob and Linda about the Halloween-themed Cake performance and suggests they can go to the venue for standby tickets, which they plan on doing.

At night, Bob and Linda head out of the apartment to the Cake venue as they catch Teddy returning to Freaky Antiquies to work. He explains how he has to set up the display case by tomorrow. As the couple leaves, the Belcher kids warn Teddy from the bay window about working at an occult store at night. Louise tosses Teddy a walkie-talkie so they can speak as he works. The owner, Gabriel, arrives, as he enters with Teddy.

In the store, Gabriel expresses how important it is for Teddy to finish the case to store a cursed mask he brought, emphasizing how dangerous it is. As Gabriel is about to leave for Bog Harbor, he explains how his twin brother Gideon wants to take the mask and warns him not to let anyone in. They decide to use "puppy" as a code word so Teddy knows it's him. When Gabriel leaves, the Belcher kids communicate with Teddy as he explains the mask and what the owner said about his twin. Louise gets him to send them a picture of the mask.

At the Wharf Arts Center, Bob and Linda fail to get tickets, so they get bacon-wrapped hot dogs from the stand by the building as consolation.

The kids stay at the bay window area, and Tina spots the owner returning. The man tries to make an excuse for Teddy to unlock the door and let him in. Teddy asks for the password, which the man can't say, though Teddy accidentally reveals it. Teddy refuses to let him in, so the man gives up and leaves. When he's gone, he relays what happened with the Belcher kids, but he returns. Teddy asks the man to let him finish working on his display case, which he initially seems unaware of until Teddy describes it. He leaves again as Louise tells Teddy the man might be Gabriel's twin and urges him to hide the mask in case he manages to get in.

Bob and Linda finish up their hot dogs as they leave, when they spot one of the Cake performers in a skeleton suit at the backdoor. Bob points out how he's one of the original performers. They talk to the performer, and Bob expresses his love for Cake. Linda asks why the performer is outside, and the man explains how he was deciding whether he should walk away because he now plays an insignificant part in the show.

Teddy returns from the store's basement after hiding the mask there. When a deliveryman arrives with the haunted jukebox for the store, Teddy makes him slide the form requiring his signature under the door, and Teddy wheels it in himself. Once he finishes, Louise, after searching it up, reveals that the mask is the Veraxion's Executioner Mask, an infamous mask a cult used for serial ritualistic murders. Hearing about it scares Teddy, but Tina assures him he's alone and safe in the store, but a man resembling the owner secretly comes out from the jukebox.

Teddy speaks with the kids as he finishes up with the display case's lock when he notices the open jukebox. He sees that there's nothing inside it. Louise suspects someone could have been hiding in it. She believes that there is no twin and that the owner plans on sacrificing Teddy without suspicion. Teddy is about to run out of the store when the man stops him, demanding that he take him to the mask.

Meanwhile, the Cake performer talks about how the show has changed for the worse. Linda tries to persuade him not to quit the show.

Teddy leads the man to the basement as he tries explaining why he wouldn't be good to sacrifice. Teddy reveals where he hid the mask and is about to give it to him when he shoves through the man and runs back up to escape with it. When Teddy opens the entrance, an identical man greets him. He asks Teddy to help him bring in the altar he's wheeling, distressing Teddy more. The man from the basement returns, and Teddy believes they both want to sacrifice him. They both want Teddy to give them the mask, so Teddy runs to the display case and locks himself in it.

The Belcher kids try talking to Teddy, though he doesn't respond. They realize that there actually were twins. They prepare to go to the store to save Teddy.

A stage member briefly comes out to warn the performer about the show starting soon. He is about to leave when Bob convinces him to stay for the people who haven't experienced Cake yet. He offers to have the couple as his guests for the show, but points out how he can't, so he high-fives Bob instead.

Teddy refuses to leave the case, and Gideon realizes Teddy thinks they plan on sacrificing him. The twins explain to Teddy how they used to own a store together as they argue, accusing each other of stealing the mask. Teddy gives them the code to unlock him after they assure him they won't sacrifice him. Once Teddy's out, Teddy suggests the twins should work together again so they can find a buyer for the mask. Gideon reveals that he did and that it's Mansfield, and Gabriel believes he can have Mansfield pay more for it. They tell Teddy how dangerous Mansfield is as they laugh about it.

The Belcher kids are about to enter Freaky Antiquies, ready to attack the twins with kitchen utensils, when Teddy runs out with the mask, escaping to Wonder Wharf as he throws the mask in the ocean. Gabriel and Gideon decide not to chase him and to split the insurance money on the mask. The Belcher kids quickly leave when the twins acknowledge them.

The mask ends up on the beach, and Gus picks it up, intending to wear it for Halloween.
