Saint Valentine's Day, or more commonly Valentine's Day, is a real-life holiday that characters celebrate on the fourteenth of February every year. The first episode centered on the holiday is "My Fuzzy Valentine," the thirteenth episode in Season 3 and the thirty-fifth episode overall.
Description[]
The holiday has religious origins,[1] but like Halloween and Christmas, the holidays evolved into something secular and something anyone may celebrate. Most people today celebrate it to celebrate romance.
Like Mother's Day, people celebrate the holiday by giving gifts or doing something compassionate for their lovers, like Bob trying to get something he thought would commemorate his first Valentine's Day with Linda in "My Fuzzy Valentine."
It doesn't have to be a holiday for people in a relationship but one for everyone. In "Bob Actually," Linda gives her kids Valentine's Day cards at breakfast, a typical gift received during the occasion, and in "My Fuzzy Valentine," she awards them with kisses. Teddy also gave Valentine's Day cards to Bob and Linda, although Bob wanted to burn them up to cook his Riverbrook Lake Farm heritage turkey in the apartment's alley for Thanksgiving ("Now We're Not Cooking with Gas").
It can also be a holiday for profit. Like how stores start selling Christmas decorations near Christmas, they might also sell candy on Valentine's Day ("Ferry on My Wayward Bob and Linda"), just like Halloween. Stores are just some of the ones who might benefit from people participating in the celebrations. In "Bob Actually," Zeke sold "Mini Flower Love Weeds" at school during the holiday, which Regular Sized Rudy bought to give Chloe Barbash in hopes of his "first non-parents-and-grandmother" kiss. Bob's Burgers also transformed into Urge, an establishment for Valentine's Day couples on the day for easy money from people who couldn't book a reservation to a fancier restaurant ("Romancing the Beef").
People also tend to eat out during the day. Like Bob's Burgers, which had more customers than usual when it was temporarily Urge in "Romancing the Beef," people packed Tiramisu Warehouse on the night of Valentine's Day, and many people appeared waiting for tables to clear up in "V for Valentine-detta," including Linda and her daughters.
Cupid[]
Like how Santa represents Christmas or leprechauns represent Saint Patrick's Day, Cupid symbolizes Valentine's Day. His connection with love makes him a famous symbol for the holiday. He uses his bow and arrow to get people to fall in love,[1][2] and Wagstaff also makes "Cupid's arrows" to send out Valentine's Day cards in "The Gene & Courtney Show."
His appearance is more symbolic than Santa's or leprechauns', but people often view him as a winged little boy or male infant wearing a diaper, similar to a cherub. Tina wears a Cupid outfit while delivering Valentine's Day cards in "The Gene & Courtney Show," and Gene wears a Cupid outfit while providing table-side services when Bob's Burgers goes by Urge in "Romancing the Beef."

Trivia[]
- Since "My Fuzzy Valentine," the only seasons to not have an episode centered on the holiday are seasons 4, 10, 13, and 14.
- "My Fuzzy Valentine," "Can't Buy Me Math," "Bob Actually," "V for Valentine-detta," and "Bed, Bob & Beyond" aired before the holiday. "Romancing the Beef" and "Ferry on My Wayward Bob and Linda" aired after.
- "V for Valentine-detta" is the only episode not to air during the month of the holiday, likely because of the Super Bowl and Winter Olympics taking place that month.
- The only episode to air on the holiday is "The Gene & Courtney Show." It's also the first holiday-themed episode to air on the holiday it's themed on.
- However, "Romancing the Beef" was meant to air naturally on the holiday, but because of a rain delay at the 2021 Daytona 500, it was pre-empted in the US. It aired regularly on the day of the holiday on CityTV in Canada.
- Before "My Fuzzy Valentine," Bob often made Linda heart-shaped items for the holiday, not knowing it disappointed her.
- The holiday rankings Louise made in "An Indecent Thanksgiving Proposal," with some input from Tina and Gene, suggest it's not one of their favorite holidays, ranking lower than Thanksgiving, their least favorite holiday mentioned in their rankings. However, Louise is the only one who has consistently shown her disapproval of the holiday, like rejecting her mom's kisses on the holiday in "My Fuzzy Valentine" or telling Rudy they don't have to be "pawns" of the holiday in "Bob Actually."
- Teddy can't sleep on the night before the holiday. ("The Gene & Courtney Show")
- Bob claims Linda brings up Michael Bolton every time it's the holiday. ("Bed, Bob & Beyond")
- Teddy decorates some of his rooms for the holiday. ("Romancing the Beef")
- The holiday also gets mentioned in "Now We're Not Cooking with Gas" and "The Tina Table: The Tables Have Tina-ed," the first being a Thanksgiving episode.
- It also gets indirectly mentioned in the Opening Sequence of "The Itty Bitty Ditty Committee," with the Store Next Door being named "Cupid's Stupid Divorce Attorney" and having imagery related to the holiday.
- Sub Pop Records also released an EP for the holiday on February 5, 2021. However, the only songs from the EP to have songs from episodes themed on the holiday are "Sky Kiss (Intro)" and "Sky Kiss" from "Bob Actually" and "Girl Power Jam" from "V for Valentine-detta."
