Bob's Burgers Wiki

Still got it.
— Vincent Bartos

Vincent Bartos is an owner and operator of a burger restaurant who Sergeant Bosco suspected to be an experienced thief. He makes his first and only appearance in "To Catch a Beef."

He is voiced by Ebon Moss-Bachrach.

Profile[]

Appearance[]

Vincent is a man of a tan complexion. He has big ears that angle away from his face and a cleft chin. His eyes are oval-shaped yet appear rectangle-like, and he has a boxy nose that starts around the midpoint of his eyes and curves down.

Vincent is reasonably tall, being taller than Bosco by about an eye. His ears are entirely exposed, having no hair covering them, and his hairline stops above his ears. His hair appears to spike up at the top, and he has a noticeable widow's peak.

In "To Catch a Beef," he wears a gray buttoned shirt with an undershirt underneath and fastened blue pants that resemble jeans, though they could be dress pants that match the rest of his dressy clothes. His belt is dark brown with a silver rectangular buckle. Over this, he wears a dark, unsaturated blue zip-up blazer. He wears dark brown dress shoes and has a brown watch on his left hand.

Personality[]

Bosco described Vincent as a seasoned criminal who's cruel enough to cut off the fingers of his enemies. Bosco's characterization of him alerted the Belchers, and when they discovered he was a customer in their restaurant, it made them fearful. The family and Bosco believed Vincent was dangerous, and Bob was distraught when letting Bosco do his interview with him, worrying about his safety. When the man came to Bob's Burgers, Bob and Bosco suspected he planned to murder them ("To Catch a Beef").

1416 To Catch a Beef Vincent 3

Vincent with the pickle he stole from the Belcher kids' Hide the Pickle game. ("To Catch a Beef")

After the police chief clears Vincent's name by revealing that the fingerprints at a crime scene the police suspected him of creating weren't his, everyone but Louise seems to drop their suspicion of Vincent. He appears charismatic when ignoring the potential of him to be a thief who cuts off other people's fingers. Bob even denies that Vincent would do so and plant another person's fingerprints at the crime scene because the man complimented him on his food and called him an artist. He seems naturally adept at connecting with other people, being humorous around Tina, Gene, and Louise by acknowledging their Hide the Pickle game and expressing his delight at meeting the Belchers ("To Catch a Beef").

Although Bob and Bosco doubt Vincent is a thief, he remains a cunning person, as he manages to find the Belcher kids' pickle and take it for himself, stating he "still got it" afterward. His craftiness suggests Louise may be right that he planted someone else's fingerprints at a crime scene to get away with a heist ("To Catch a Beef").

Story[]

Vincent Bartos gets introduced in "To Catch a Beef" as a burger restaurant owner who the police suspected of stealing several priceless things, from jewelry to art, and using his establishment as a place to launder money. But at some point, Vincent becomes seriously invested in his restaurant and wants to hire better people for his place.

Relationships[]

Acquaintances[]

The Belchers[]

The Belchers were initially very frightened by Vincent in "To Catch a Beef," though the kids were to a lesser degree. Being near him made Bob and Linda jittery due to the risk of him possibly being a criminal and wanting to murder Bosco and them and their family.

On the other hand, Vincent seems to like the Belchers. He praises Bob's burger after tasting it, and prior to meeting them, he already had a favorable view of them because of the compliments he's heard about their restaurant. Vincent also believed Bob was an old boss of Bosco, who was posing as "Joe Josephs." Near the end of the episode, Bob changes his opinion of Vincent, no longer believing he's dangerous and taking note of Vincent calling him an artist.

Teddy[]

Nothing against you, sir. Uh, nothing against... You seem fine, but...

When Louise asks him who's his favorite person he met at Bob's Burgers in "To Catch a Beef," he states he liked Teddy. Teddy likely doesn't think the same way because Vincent was sitting on his stool when he came by for dinner.

Sergeant Bosco[]

Vincent proves he is only aware of Sergeant Bosco's undercover identity, Joe Josephs, in "To Catch a Beef." Bosco got into contact with Vincent due to him potentially being a thief, and he poses as a chef so Vincent would hire him and let him gather evidence to arrest him. Like Bob, Bosco believed Vincent was a dangerous person. The most important thing for Bosco's relationship with Vincent was his trust so that he wouldn't suspect him to be an undercover cop. But after Bosco's boss tells the officer Vincent isn't the person behind a recent crime, he becomes no longer wary of the restaurateur.

Vincent suggests he didn't fully trust Bosco because of his apparent lack of cooking skills. However, after Bosco serves Vincent his burger—which was actually a burger Bob cooked that they swapped without him looking—Vincent changes his mind about Bosco, and the skill he believes Bosco has even humbled him.
